Engage Voices Network

No one is born a good citizen; no nation is born a democracy. Rather, both are processes that continue to evolve over a lifetime. Young people must be included from birth. A society that cuts itself off from its youth severs its lifeline; it is condemned to bleed to death. - Kofi Annan, 1998

About Us

What We Do

Youth and women constitute a significant portion of Africa’s population and have often been celebrated as the driver of crucial political transformation that unfolded across the continent – notably during the period of pro-democracy movements that eventually led to democratic transition in the early 1990s. Yet their participation in the political process and representation in national and local assembly remain limited.

At Engage Voices Network Ltd, we believe Youth and women in public participation is a prerequisite for a peaceful, healthy society as well as a more inclusive and representative democracy as such, their absence in public participation represents a miss-opportunity for the future democratic and socioeconomic development and trajectory for the continent.
